Keepin’ It Live In The 805
Sometimes ‘being’ in one place 24/7 gets old.
Like I’ve said before, Dorm Life is UBER NEATO, but sometimes you need a break. In a given day I wake up, go to chapel, go to class, go back to my room, stay up till 2am (If you’re like me), eat 3 times somewhere in there and then start all over the next day.
This weekend I chose to have a change in pace. I took off after work Thursday night. I will be spending a whole 60 hours in Ventura, California this weekend to give myself some time rejuvenating from classes and the somewhat hectic dorm life.
I love my town. 100,000 + people live in my town. But still, it feels so small. I come home to palm trees and the smell of sand. I live for the beach. Here is my town in a glance:
- Snapper Jacks Tacos
- Corrales Mexican Food (4 chicken burritos)
- The Cross
- Arroyo Verde Park
- The Pier
- 2 Trees
- The Harbor
- Community Presbyterian Church
- Promenade
- Foothill Technology High School
- Seaward Ave.
- Sailing & Kayaking
- Thrifting @ Downtown Ventura
- The 126
- The 101
- East Side Vs. West Side (Yup, the rivalry exists).
I could go on and on, and I would have. But as I was writing this I was realizing that you probably don’t care that much. My point is, that if you live a few hours driving distance to Biola, as a student you will want to use the opportunity to retreat back home every once in a while and if you live far from school – You’ll meet people who live close and hang with them!
Thanks for letting me ramble to you about my home!

*P.S. My area code is 805, hence my quirky title…
