a bittersweet ending

Man is a dying creature
For everything that he does
Is in the prison of time
Slowly decaying - wasting
Away as the morning fog.Frostian poetics and
Solomonic impressions
Manifest themselves in, on
And through life, determining
End before the beginningThe beauty that was written
Stays as long as words, paper
And memories contain it,
But all of these are fleeting;
Pictures are worth only words.Ah my soul! Regard the times with care
Know that nothing in this life will last
So breathe and taste this vain, swift vapor.
So Long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen
Hey Bloggies. It has come time for me to say my goodbyes. BUT do not fret - you can follow me on Twitter… HERE! I’ll try and be professional… But I don’t guarantee it, so you can move on from “blogger reader from afar” and be my friend. Yes I said it. Friend. Be my friend!
Just like Blogger Zach said in his last post, “I am merely descending from this platform to another, different blog… thingy” So wise my friend, Zach, so wise! And this is true! I’ll be around the interwebs for a long long time - find me! Also, find me at Biola next semester! Come say hi, really… do it. And don’t feel weird. You’re feeling weird just thinking about it… aren’t you. STOP IT STOP IT!!!
Anyways, yes. The time has come for me to end my journey as a Biola Blogger. It has been a great year sharing a piece of my life with you (even if “you” is just Julie Carobini, “aka” mom…) If you are attending Biola in the fall, I hope you have just as much of a good time as I have, only more! I hope you experience God and the work He has for you in your life, in the life of your friends and ultimately in the person He is growing you to be, here at Biola regarding your education. And if you’re not attending Biola.. It is okay. I will (try) to forgive you, but really I know you’ll have a needed journey at wherever life leads you (another college, work, missions etc)
This year I’ve made new friends as well as lost some. I’ve taken new classes & realized that those classes aren’t for me! I’ve changed my major and discovered new things about what I can do with my future. I’ve been on a rainy GYRAD and watched a whole season of 7th Heaven to procrastinate my studies… It’s been a wild year, and with summer approaching, it’s just beginig.
Thanks for following me on my journey as a sophmore here @ Biola, and I’m sure I’ll meet you in the future… I hope!

As my second to last post, I thought I’d share with you the second to last Dorm Series episode… ever.
You see, as we are heading into summer, that also means a chapter in our Biolian lives are closing: Dorm Life. Most of us are moving into other homes, or apartments as we are no longer underclassmen and want something different! But that also means that our dorm film adventure is coming to a close: Dorm Series.
It’s been a ton of fun living on the hall with these guys in the video, but I am & the rest of the guys are stoked on the new adventures we’ll have in our new living spaces.
Watch & Laugh. Have Fun!

You may go to Biola when…. (read the tweet)

I’ll be posting a “goodbye” post in a few days… Stay Tuned. And as always, email me here if you have ANY questions. For serious.

At the close of this school year I have been looking back on the way that I have grown and things have changed. This past year has been the fastest, change-filled year yet. It has been so wonderful growing in my relationship with God in ways that I would have never imagined, at times difficult and painful, but necessary. Through the trials He has allowed me to go through, I feel like God has taught me so much about His attributes, namely His sovereignty over all things, including my life. I have learned that I can make all of the plans in the world, but ultimately, I don’t know what my future holds, but I am able to rest in the one who knew me before the foundation of the earth and who pursues me daily.
I feel so incredibly blessed to have made such faithful, God fearing friends who push me towards holiness even if it’s not what I want to hear. Three of my best friends are going to far places for ministry this summer and I honestly can not be more excited for them. I see how God has grown each of them the past year so much to equip them for each of the places they are going, and for the ways in which they will be serving. I feel like I’m such a part of each of their trips and I am so thankful for God’s gift to His people of intercessory prayer. I will miss them so much, but I want that to push me to approach God in prayer for them all the more eagerly. It’s weird knowing that being home this summer will not include the three of them, but it’s a little exciting.
I have no idea what my summer will look like and for the first time that doesn’t scare me. I am so thankful for God teaching me that I am truly in His arms, and that the destiny of all of creation lies in the palm of His hand. Nothing can happen to me apart from God’s will! Now that’s comforting. I look forward to the new friendships that will spring up, taking risks for Christ this summer, and seeking first His kingdom in all relationships, work, and play. I cannot believe the amount of change I have experienced at Biola this year, and it’s even harder to imagine who I will be three years from now, graduating!
Hey check out this video from Forest Home! I didn’t go to the Mens Conference this year (Actually, I’ve never gone… But I grew up going to Forest Home as a camper!). The speakers in this video (about half way through) are professors at Biola! I’m so bummed I didn’t go now. It would have been great to hear their sermons. They are awesome men of God and I have the privilege of taking their classes… How cool is that?

Donuts Are Not A Lie!
HEAT of the Night. You saw the pictures. The craziness. The fun. The MESS.
It literally was a mess all weekend. Our hall was a pigsty: mattresses, bunk bed parts, wardrobes and anything else you can think of was spread across the 60 person hall. Saturday was a lazy day for 98% of us, we woke up at noon and did nothing all day. The night before was super fun, but tiring! Then Sunday rolls along and we realize we have a ton of homework to do, so the floor stays messy. Sunday evening, we came back to a sign right outside our door saying “Clean Your Hall By 8am Mon - $$Fines or Donuts”. We didn’t know who posted this, but we WANTED donuts. By 2am the floor was spotless clean.
Little did we know, in the morning… there were no donuts. We were outraged. We were promised something baked and delicious and given nothing in return, so the Gentleman’s Revolt for Donuts, began:
“A dark time had fallen upon the men of Heat. Donuts were taken from our hands before we even had a chance to take them for our own. However a strong few banded together to fight for those delicious pastries, those men were The Gentlemen’s Revolt for Donuts!”
People were claiming that the donuts were a lie, but by 4pm, we got an official note from our RA, Josh, saying that that our RD Andrew was the one who put up the sign (with the thought that there was no way we would actually clean up by Monday) so he brought donuts this morning. The revolt was over. WE WON!

They were delicious BTW.
